What the phone actually reads
The payload is WIFI:T:WPA;S:YourNetwork;P:YourKey;; — a format Apple and Google cameras understand. That is different from a URL. A URL opens a page. This payload offers to join the network.
Print size for a café table
5 × 5 cm with a quiet zone is enough from a seated guest. Use the print size calculator if the sign sits on a window across the room. Keep the password out of photos of the sign.
Frequently asked questions
Does QRtracer store my Wi-Fi password?
No. The WIFI: string is built in your browser. Close the tab and it is gone. We cannot show scan analytics for this code because there is no redirect.
Will guests join the network in one tap?
Yes on iOS 11+ and current Android camera apps, for WPA/WPA2 and open networks. A URL code on the Wi-Fi landing page will not do that.
Can I change the password later without reprinting?
Not with this static payload. Reprint the code, or print a dynamic QRtracer URL that points at a short instruction page you can edit.
