How an email QR code works

The code contains a standard mailto: link. When someone scans it, their phone opens its default email app with your address, subject and message filled in. They can edit the message before sending. Nothing is sent automatically.

Ideas for email QR codes

  • Feedback: "Feedback about my visit on…" on a receipt or table card.
  • Quote requests: subject "Quote request" with a short template for size, date and budget.
  • Event RSVPs: subject "RSVP – [event]" on a printed invitation.
  • Support: on product packaging, with the model number in the subject so you know what they bought.

Keep it short

Everything you type is stored in the pattern, so a long message makes the code dense and harder to scan when printed small. Keep the subject and message brief and test the printed code. For longer forms, link a QR code to an online form instead, for example with our Google Forms QR code guide.
