Create a code for your WhatsApp number
- Enter the number registered to your personal or WhatsApp Business account, including the country code. For example, a Dutch 06 number starts with +31 6 in international format.
- Add a message if you want to give customers a starting point.
- Download the PNG and scan it with another phone. Check the recipient and message before printing.
The code uses WhatsApp’s click-to-chat link. The customer can edit the draft and chooses whether to send it.
Give the customer a reason to start the chat
Print a specific invitation beside the code, such as “Ask about this product”. Pair it with a short draft: “Hi, I have a question about model [name].” For a booking enquiry, try “Hi, do you have a table for [number] on [date]?”
A different draft for each placement can help you recognise incoming enquiries. Customers can edit or remove it, so it is not a scan counter.
Track scans and change your WhatsApp number later
Use a dynamic QR code when you want to compare scans from different placements or keep the same printed code after changing numbers.
Build your destination as https://wa.me/YOURNUMBER, replacing YOURNUMBER with the full international number using digits only, without +, spaces or brackets. Paste that link into the QRtracer link generator and save the code to your account before downloading it. Use a separate saved code for each placement.
You can then change the destination in your dashboard. QRtracer measures scans; your WhatsApp inbox shows which people actually sent a message.
The code scans, but the chat will not open
Check that the number is registered with WhatsApp and that the country code is correct. If a browser opens, follow its prompt to continue in WhatsApp. Test on a phone with WhatsApp installed.
This generator opens a conversation with a number. It does not create a WhatsApp Web login code or a group invitation. The free download above has a fixed number and message; edit the fields and download a replacement if you need to correct it.
