Calendar Event QR Code Generator

The code holds the event in the iCalendar format that calendar apps use. The phone camera recognises it and shows an "Add to calendar" or "Add event" option. Nothing is saved until the person confirms, and they can edit the details first.

The event is saved without a time zone, so 19:30 appears as 19:30 on everyone's calendar. That is what you want for a local event: guests are in the same place as the event. For an online event with guests in several time zones, put the time zone in the event name or details, or link to a page that shows local times.

If you leave the end time empty, the event lasts one hour.

Every character goes into the pattern. A long description makes the code denser and harder to scan from a distance. Use the name, time and address, and put the programme, parking and ticket details on a web page instead.

A calendar code is static: if the date moves, printed codes still add the old date. For events that might be rescheduled, or when you want to count scans per poster, use a dynamic QR code that opens your event page. You can update the page and the link at any time without reprinting.
