QRtracer MCP
Create and manage QR codes through AI tools
Connect QRtracer to an MCP-compatible client such as ChatGPT or Claude. Create a code, find your existing codes, edit a destination and request a download from the same conversation.
Connect your AI tool
Use this remote MCP server URL: https://qrtracer.io/mcp
Account OAuth connections are in a controlled rollout. Public link checking and limited anonymous creation are available through compatible MCP clients. Private account actions require supported authenticated access.
Programmable accounts can use their API key in clients that support bearer authentication. See the API documentation. Never paste an API key into a public conversation or shared configuration.
A client may use different setup labels or restrict custom connectors. This endpoint does not imply a published ChatGPT directory app or automatic installation. Read the developer documentation. Manage your connected apps.
Available QR code tools
Nine core tools and two legacy routing tools. Account actions check ownership. Creation, analytics, exports and routing follow the existing website entitlements; connecting an AI tool does not unlock a paid feature.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| create_qr | Create a dynamic QR code. Limited anonymous creation returns a claim link; show it to the user. |
| get_account | Read the connected account and its available plan features. |
| list_qr_codes | Find QR codes owned by the connected account. |
| get_qr_code | Inspect one owned QR code. |
| update_destination | Change an owned destination after printing, with the same permissions as the website. |
| get_analytics | Read current scan counts when the account has analytics access. |
| compare_qr_codes | Compare owned QR codes using available scan data. |
| render_qr | Download PNG, or SVG when ownership and the plan permit it. |
| check_qr_link | Check current public link reachability; this does not guarantee future availability. |
| set_routing | Configure supported routing for an eligible Programmable account (legacy tool). |
| simulate_scan | Test supported routing behavior (legacy tool). |
Try a clear request
- “Create a QR code for my website and give me its PNG and claim link.”
- “Find my menu QR code and change its destination.”
- “Compare the scan counts for these two QR codes.”
- “Check whether this QR destination is reachable right now.”
Understand the result
Scan counts describe recorded scanning activity. They do not establish purchases, conversions or unique people. A successful link check describes current reachability and cannot establish an individual provider’s expiry policy.
Keep an anonymous code’s claim link private and claim it to manage ownership. Read our privacy policy and terms before connecting.
