Link to your existing store or reorder page

Link to an existing product page, collection, subscription page, or reorder flow on your ecommerce site. QRtracer supplies the QR link and optional scan reporting; it does not provide a cart, checkout, product inventory, account, payment, delivery, or customer service system. Choose a mobile destination that identifies the product shown on the package and lets the customer understand price, availability, shipping, and alternatives before purchase. Avoid encoding order numbers, customer details, or account tokens in a reusable packaging code.

Create and test the reorder code

  1. Copy the public store or reorder URL and test it without an admin or customer session.
  2. Create the code and choose tracking when stock or product URLs may change.
  3. Name it after the product and package version, such as Granola 500g pouch — 2026.
  4. Add plain context beside the code, such as Scan to reorder online.
  5. Test the final package through a complete mobile shopping journey.

A takeaway brand can place one code on cups and another on delivery bags. Both may open the same store, while separate codes help compare where customers begin.

Update the link when a product is unavailable

Products get renamed, replaced, or temporarily unavailable while packaging remains in circulation. A dynamic code lets you point old stock to a successor product, relevant collection, stock notice, or support page. Explain substitutions clearly and avoid redirecting to an unrelated item. A static code keeps its original URL and requires new artwork when the destination changes. Review long-life packaging links during catalog migrations, domain changes, and seasonal inventory updates.

Compare interest with completed orders

QRtracer shows that the reorder destination opened. It cannot determine whether the visitor added an item, signed in, paid, cancelled, or returned an order. Use ecommerce analytics and order records for those outcomes. Free includes up to 3 dynamic codes and 14 days of Analytics and QR Studio access. Paid plans add ongoing access, SVG export for scalable packaging artwork, and CSV export for scan analysis. Use campaign parameters when your store analytics supports them, and keep scan and sales measures clearly labeled.

Frequently asked questions

Does QRtracer provide the reorder checkout?
No. The code opens the existing store or reorder URL you provide. Your ecommerce platform handles inventory, accounts, cart, payment, fulfilment, and returns.
What if the packaged item is no longer available?
Update a dynamic code to a clearly explained successor, collection, stock notice, or support page. Avoid silently directing customers to an unrelated product.
Can scans show how many customers reordered?
No. Scans show destination opens. Compare them with ecommerce sessions and completed orders for the same period, while treating the store records as the source of truth.
