Link to the public sales page, not an admission credential

QRtracer creates a QR link to your hosted event or ticket checkout page. It does not sell tickets, take payment, issue unique tickets, validate admission, or replace the attendee barcode created by your ticketing system. Never print one general sales QR code as if it were an entry credential. Copy the public page where a buyer can see the correct event, date, venue, price, fees, accessibility information, and availability before starting checkout.

Use a separate code for each ticket sales placement

  1. Publish the event sales page and copy its customer-facing URL.
  2. Create a dynamic code if the event may sell out or the sales page could move.
  3. Name the code after its placement, such as Station poster — north entrance.
  4. Put the event name and date beside the code so the destination is expected.
  5. Complete a test journey through the final printed proof, stopping before a real charge if the ticket platform lacks a test mode.

Separate codes on partner flyers and venue posters can open the same checkout while keeping their scan activity distinguishable.

Plan a useful destination for sold-out events

When tickets sell out, a saved dynamic code can move to an official waiting list, event information page, livestream page, or future dates. The replacement should state clearly that the original event is sold out. Do not redirect to a different paid event without explaining the change. A static code cannot be updated through QRtracer after printing. The ticket platform remains responsible for inventory, buyer accounts, refunds, payment, delivery, fraud checks, and admission credentials.

Compare QR scans with ticket sales and attendance

QRtracer reports opens of the ticket page. A scan is not a completed checkout, paid order, issued ticket, or attendee entry. Compare scans with orders in the ticketing system for matching dates and placements, then use the admission system for attendance. Free accounts include up to 3 dynamic codes and 14 days of Analytics and QR Studio access. Paid plans provide ongoing access, SVG export for large-format posters, and CSV export for QRtracer scan data.

Frequently asked questions

Does this QR code become the buyer's event ticket?
No. It opens the public sales page. Your ticketing platform creates and validates each attendee's ticket or barcode after the buyer completes its checkout process.
What should the code open after an event sells out?
Update a dynamic code to an official waiting list, clear sold-out page, livestream, or future dates. Explain the change instead of silently sending scanners elsewhere.
Can QRtracer report ticket revenue?
No. QRtracer reports scan activity for the sales link. Use the ticketing provider for orders, payments, refunds, issued tickets, and attendance data.
