Link to the public listing, not the agent portal

Use the public listing URL that shows the address or general location, photos, description, contact route, and current status. Open it in a private browser on a phone and confirm that it does not require an agent login or a saved session. QRtracer can provide the redirect and optional scan reporting; it does not host listing photos, verify ownership, schedule viewings, or protect sensitive property information. Follow the listing platform's rules for public URLs and disclosure.

Match each sign and brochure to the right listing

Name codes by property and placement, such as a yard sign, open-house handout, or brochure. A separate code per placement can show which printed source receives scans without putting a person's name or contact details in the QR content. Add a clear instruction such as Scan for photos and viewing details. Check that the code remains legible on the sign from the street and that the destination loads before asking for a lead form.

Mark a property unavailable promptly

A listing can move from available to offer accepted, rented, sold, withdrawn, or temporarily unavailable while the sign remains outside. For a saved dynamic code, update the destination to the current public status page, a search page for similar properties, or a clear explanation with the agent's public contact route. Do not leave a visitor on a stale application or viewing page. Review long-running signs and brochures when the listing status changes.

Keep scan activity separate from buyer identity

Free currently includes up to 3 dynamic codes and 14 days of Analytics and QR Studio. Pro is €5.99 per month with full analytics access plus SVG and CSV export. A scan means that the QRtracer redirect opened; it does not prove a purchase, booking, subscription, or identified person. A scan indicates that the listing redirect opened. It does not prove that a person visited the property, submitted a lead, qualified as a buyer, signed a lease, or was identified by QRtracer. Use the listing or CRM system for enquiries, appointments, offers, and customer records. Keep QRtracer code names descriptive but free of private personal data.

Frequently asked questions

Can I encode a private property portal in the QR code?
Use a public listing or public contact page instead. A QR code does not protect a private portal or grant a visitor access to a restricted agent or tenant system.
What should happen when the property is no longer available?
Update a dynamic code to a current status, similar listings, or a public contact page. Test the replacement so the sign does not send people to an expired application or viewing flow.
Can scans identify prospective buyers?
No. A scan is an opening of the redirect. Listing, CRM, form, and appointment systems handle enquiries and identity when a visitor voluntarily provides those details.
